This is the new year and you want to start saving more money. But you live check balance to pay check and hardly have any earthquake room. Then, what is?
Try to think before you buy it; take step back and review your purchasing habits and what you may be wasting money on. Ordinary people throw their money on useless things. Don't be one of them in 2011. See this list and start saving instead of wasting.
Auto insurance: If your car is five years or more review your insurance. You could save money, especially if it has high mileage. It is not at the price you pay to ensure fully there. Also, while you are at it dump another unnecessary insurance, you may have, such as mortgage insurance and insurance of the credit card.
Bottled water: Please stop wasting money on this product. Buy a bottle of water that can be reused and fill it with tap water and bring to the job or you go where ever when you need to rehydrate. Most bottled water is glorified tap water - it's simply been filtered. If you are paranoid that buy a filter for your tap home and drinking water.
High gas prices: If the manufacturer of your car call not specifically for the "more" or "super" and then stick to the regular force. The other gas does help the car become more efficient, or perform any better on the road.
Coffee: there are people who buy two or three cups per day, not to mention the specialty of beverages that are offered at Dunkin' Donuts, Starbucks, and other stores. BREW your own; almost every grocery store has available freshly ground coffee. Take advantage of it.
Energy drinks: talk about a waste; These boxes sweet, sur-subventionnés, powered by caffeine, fat waters have no nutritional value. Forget vitamin B, C, Ginkgo and any other ingredient praised for you provide energy. It is not true, that of sugar and caffeine in obscene quantities, give you the twitch. And they bring your wallet, too.
Play the lottery: everyone wants to believe that they will be hit the big one and be put in place for life. But in reality, the lottery is a waste of money. If you play two or three times a week for $5 or $10 a pop you rarely money in return. Try this place; take the money you play the lottery and save for a month. You will be pleasantly surprised.
Articles of trade mark: unless you are absolutely certain that cereal name brand or aspirin (or any other product) is better than the store brand or generic element, and then paste the generic and save money.
Dining out: a stick to buy your grocery products and eat at home, it not only you will save money but you may find that you can prepare meals healthier, tastier than chains of restaurants and local shops, lunch and dinner.
Rent movies: you want to save money to rent you a movie instead of out. OK, is good, but why rent? Go to your local library and discover their selection - it's free. Your fees support the library so much cash.
Leaving the lights on: more people waste of money each year because they don't pay attention to the electricity they use. Turn off lights when you leave the room; Don't let the TV if you don't look and shut down the computer when you are finished to use it.
Remember, saving money is not something you do on a whim of head or just great things. It is the small things as mentioned above that can add up to be budget breakers. By reducing waste here and there, it can add up to be significant savings in the end.
