Review: Endless [2011]

15 - 105mins-Mystery/Thriller March 23, 2011

Soon released on 23 March, unlimited focuses around the life of writer Eddie Morra (Bradley Cooper) a man who leads nowhere fast in life. It certainly is the slow way. The book, he is currently working on that has achieved healthy zero words after a prolonged period of writers block and his love of life is focused on a similar path.

Cue a chance meeting with an old acquaintance and the discovery of a way to escape from the mundane world he currently calls his life. How you ask? Take a pill, a simple clear pill which will solve all its problems. It has the ability to open access to all his brain function rather than its current 20% and free boundaries and limits that he has already been restricted to the. Realizing that nothing can get much worse than it is already uses and immediately things become easy for him. What little is there not an inexhaustible source and that no surprise he is not the only one who knows its existence.

If intended to be ironic or not the first time that you see Eddie you could be forgiven for thinking he was on drugs and the fur and film on his life with the help of drugs, NZT-48 it cleans up its act. Cooper made a good job of course tell the well written script that gives us some funny moments and humour dry to start while its ability to move between the two personalities alter while and off drugs is impressive.

Niro and Cornish played their parts well but is not given screen time to develop their characters in remarkable performance as the greater part of the discussion is kept on Eddie. This leads me in my only slight disappointment with the film in the secondary characters seem not mentioned, then appear for ten to fifteen minutes before disappearing for ever to be seen or referenced again to make the plot slightly disjointed at least.

This is countered by the fact I absolutely love the cinematography and the way this film was built. Effect made in the opening credits, as the camera continuously fact tunnel through urban nightlife zoom sets the standard for the rest of the film. When on the drug, everything is brighter, the people are well groomed and then off when it any more dark and dark to see the emotions and mood-State being felt in the spirit of Eddie. Not only this but you can feel the increased effect of the drug is having more things are put on the screen to engage the viewer and get thinking you at the same time the camera flits about place as the tempo is increased to indicate improved Eddie's brain activity.

Overall no limit is a very enjoyable film that entertain me during its lifetime. The drug has effects on the world around Eddie are skilfully portrayed as most CGI rentals, you feel the medicine with him and well that I felt that they could have pushed the limits slightly further and explored the side drugs of things a little more, I was happy to have watched this fun flick.

Rating: 7.4/10.
