12 Bis - 110mins - comedy - 22 April 2011
Now for a guy who takes a disliking immediate Russell Brand the prospect of him watching closely for 2 hours did not complete my heart joy especially when he acted as a wealthy layabout. But I concluded on bottom and looked away in the hope to be pleasantly surprised and I must say, this is not bad that I thought he was going to be (spirit still nothing special).
Arthur is a remake of the film of the same name 1981 and follows Arthur (Russell Brand) a playboy drunken rick whose only worries in life seem how to the top of his last stunt where comes from his following dismissal. To help life Hobson (Helen Mirren) through her nanny and Bitterman (Luis Guzmán) his driver are there to take care of him. Despite this assistance, he always gets into trouble at every turn that leads to society in which it is the sole heir became nervous in the future.
So when her mother (Geraldine James) became sick of his attitude, she gives him an ultimatum that he can either marry Susan (Jennifer Garner) which would facilitate the shareholders concerned or be cut off from the family fortune and live the life in the real world. The only problem being that he has finally met the girl of his dream of Naomi (Greta, Gerwig) and thus face a dilemma.
I've only seen some of the original are not all respect, mark seems to take advantage of the essence and charm that Dudley Moore led to the role and I find it always difficult to connect or feel anything toward the main character. Is what we are supposed to feel sorry for the billionaire who has finally to make a decision and do something with his life? O boohoo!
First thought, it is a comedy so is it make me laugh? Generally not, but I must say there are at least a few jokes which me smirking, but on the length of the film, which has been too long in my opinion, were rare. Mark plays while drunk (as surprising step) in a more tonic version below his usual characters earning me round - I'm still not a big fan, but his performance was solid.
Arthur entertained in part, and only step from the original opportunity and be slightly fun out of the area for a few hours. If there is an available choice then I would probably go for which there are certainly worse comedies autour that.
